A boda boda rider from a small village recently opened up about the difficult decision he made to leave his wife just a week after she underwent a Caesarean section (CS) delivery. Driven by the need to provide a better future for his family, he left his wife and newborn child behind in hopes of making enough money to support them.

“I had to leave, even though it broke my heart,” he explained, his voice heavy with emotion. “I knew my wife needed me, but the responsibility of taking care of a new family, especially with the added expenses after a CS, was overwhelming. I hoped that by working in Nairobi, I could send money back home and give them a better life.”The decision was not an easy one. His wife, recovering from surgery, faced the challenging task of caring for their newborn while also grappling with the physical limitations of her recovery. However, the boda boda rider’s desire to provide for his family outweighed his own emotional struggles.

Now in Nairobi, he works tirelessly every day, hoping that his sacrifices will eventually bear fruit. “I miss my wife and child terribly,” he said, “but I know I’m doing this for them. Every day I think about how much I want to see them thrive, and that gives me the strength to keep going.”His story is a poignant reminder of the lengths many go to provide for their loved ones, even at the expense of personal comfort and immediate emotional needs. As he continues his work in Nairobi, he dreams of the day when he can return to his family with the resources to give them a better life.
