According to the Ministry of Trade, the agreement aims to strengthen agricultural ties and expand Kenya’s export opportunities.
“India has agreed to open their markets for Kenyan avocados, marking a pivotal moment for our farmers,” the statement highlighted.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy by India to enhance its engagement in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and technology transfer with Kenya.
Following a recent virtual meeting of the Technical Level Joint Trade Committee (JTC), both nations are committed to addressing trade barriers and fostering closer economic ties.
As Kenya looks to diversify its agricultural exports, the new access to the Indian market represents a promising step towards greater economic cooperation and mutual growth between the two countries.
