The individual, named Victor Ouma Okoth, was captured in the Dandora Phase IV area of Nairobi, where he had been evading authorities.

A report from the DCI, released on October 29, 2024, indicated that Okoth had secured accommodation in the vicinity, allegedly utilizing funds obtained from the crime to facilitate his flight.

The DCI confirmed that Okoth was located and linked to the crime scene through sophisticated forensic techniques, following a thorough investigation conducted by a collaborative team that included DCI’s Homicide, Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), and Operations detectives.

Currently, the suspect is being detained at Muthaiga Police Station, where further questioning is taking place.

This arrest represents a significant advancement in the investigation, which has been ongoing since the unfortunate disappearance and subsequent death of Mr. Ayieko in Siaya County earlier this month.

Authorities have stated that they are actively pursuing additional leads to identify and apprehend other suspects who may have been involved in the murder.

The DCI reiterated its dedication to ensuring that all individuals implicated in this grievous crime are brought to justice, indicating that the investigative team is examining further evidence to uncover the complete extent of the crime and dismantle any related networks.
