Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has landed himself in another fresh trouble after his latest remarks on Mt Kenya angered a section of netizens.
This was after Gachagua on Sunday, waded back into Mt Kenya politics, something that had landed him into trouble leading to his impeachment.
While speaking at a church service at Saint James ACK Cathedral in Kiambu County, Gachagua warned Ruto saying he should not think that Mt Kenya people will have forgotten what he did to him (Gachagua) when 2027 comes.
He reminded Ruto that Mt Kenya people forgive but cannot forget, urging the mountain people to remain silent till the right time for them to talk.
“They think we as Mt Kenya region will have forgotten what is happening by 2027. I want to tell them that we forgive but we don’t forget. I want to ask the Mt Kenya region to remain silent, we will talk when the right time comes. I trust and know that the Judiciary will deliver victory to Gachagua and Kenyans who voted for me,” he stated
It is his remarks that elicited sharp reactions from netizens, who wondered why Gachagua had gone back to tribal politics when he was not even out of the woods.
Many expressed their dissatisfaction, saying a leader of his caliber should have learned quickly and avoid speaking over tribal politics when he is a national leader. Others castigated him, finding sense in one of the grounds that parliament used to impeach Gachagua.
