Kiambu Senator Hon Karung’o Wa Thang’wa has said 2027 will be a defining moment of most if not all Members of Parliament who voted in the favour of the controversial Finance Bill 2024 and the Impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking as reported by Kenyans.co.ke today, the outspoken Mt Kenya MP states that Kenyans are reading and taking notes of what various elected leaders are doing and that it is a matter of time before Kenyans comes out to demand what they think belongs to them.
Also, Thang’wa proposed a four year term for Presidents, MPs, Senators, Governors and Members of County Assembly (MCAs).
The Senator stated that the new term limit will encourage the emergence of new leaders as well incentivize leaders to prioritize the needs of citizens.
“A four year term allows for the new leaders to emerge, fostering innovation and responsiveness to the needs of our diverse population.”
