Senior attorney Ahmednasir Abdullahi has described President William Ruto as a sad man as a result of his protracted silence on Rigathi Gachagua’s political problems. “The head of state is a sad man tonight,” SC Ahmednasir Reacts wrote on his official Twitter account. According to the 2010 constitution, parliament is a toothless dog, therefore he was unable to assist or save Gachagua after he was impeached in front of him.
“H.E @WilliamsRuto is a very sad man tonight. His deputy was impeached right in front of his eyes…just like that by Parliament..And he couldn’t help or save him because the 2010 constitution made the President “a toothless bulldog” he said.
After his prior forecast about the number of charges the Senate would use to send Gachagua home came true, he made this statement. Five of the eleven charges against Gachagua were supported by the majority of senators, and the case was predicted to take a different direction because the High Court might get involved. In protest of Amason Kingi’s decision to not postpone the hearing until Tuesday of next week, Gachagua’s legal team, commanded by Paul Muite, walked out of the Senate’s proceedings.
