Kimani Ichung’wah Flees After Angry Residents Attack Over Push to Impeach Gachagua

Chaos erupted in Kikuyu constituency as Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah was forced to flee for his life after being attacked by angry residents.

The attack followed accusations from locals that Ichung’wah had spearheaded efforts to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, a move that has deeply divided the community.

Residents expressed outrage, claiming that Ichung’wah, alongside other members of parliament from the Mount Kenya region, was responsible for sowing division among them.

They accused him of being a key figure in the plot to remove Gachagua, who they say has been working to unite the people of Mount Kenya.

The community made it clear that it would not be easy for any MP who supported the impeachment to escape their wrath, as they believed Gachagua’s efforts were in the best interest of the region.

“You cannot unite all Kenyans if your own home is divided,” one resident remarked, echoing Gachagua’s calls for solidarity within Mount Kenya before addressing national unity.

Ichung’wah’s position as Majority Leader now appears increasingly precarious, with growing opposition in his backyard as tensions rise over the potential ousting of the Deputy President.
