An emotional moment was witnessed after a young boy named Lewis, who recently shared a heartbreaking story about his family’s predicament was received at Kimuri High School in Naivasha alongside his parents and comedian Eric Omondi.

The boy’s story touched many Kenyans, leading to an outpouring of support. Lewis was initially found sitting alone, looking sad, by a concerned man. When questioned, the boy opened up about the challenges his family had been facing.

He explained that he had missed school for two weeks because his father, who had lost his job, could not afford to pay his school fees.

The family who lived in Chokaa had also lost their home after being demolished while they were away for burial in the village.

The boy revealed that his father’s butchery had been demolished too and he had no other source of income. The family was left living in a semi-permanent house made of iron sheets.

Upon hearing Lewis’ plight, Eric Omondi traced the boy and his family and made a public appeal to help them. The response was overwhelming, with generous Kenyans contributing over one million shillings to support the family.
