Lately, cases of killings involving marriage partners have been on an upward trend in many parts of the Republic of Kenya. The most recent incident occurred in Kyang’ombe Estate, Kitengela Town, Kajiado County, where a tragic event unfolded, shocking the community.

Credible reports from NTV indicate that an engineer brutally killed his wife, Lucy Wambui Mathenge, while their young daughter watched helplessly. The day turned chaotic as a dramatic fight between the couple escalated.

Witnesses say the husband stabbed Lucy multiple times, leading to her immediate collapse. Despite the neighbors’ attempts to intervene, it was too late; Lucy, a mother of one, had succumbed to her injuries.

The couple had been married for seven years, and the scene reflected the violence that had erupted—broken household items littered the area, a grim testament to the altercation.

Police arrived promptly, documenting the scene and transporting the body to Kitengela Sub County Hospital Mortuary. Pathologist Peter Ndegwa confirmed that Lucy died from excessive blood loss due to the stabbings.

In response to the tragedy, Isinya Sub County Police Commander Patrick Manyasi announced a manhunt for the suspect, who fled the scene.

Kitengela Chief Peter Mwangi urged married couples to adopt peaceful resolution methods to address conflicts, emphasizing the importance of communication to prevent such devastating outcomes.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lucy Wambui’s family during this challenging time.
