Amisi’s question underlines the growing tension within the Kenya Kwanza coalition, whose some MPs seek Gachagua’s impeachment. The motion has been headline news, showing the cracks within the ruling alliance, though the President’s final word might change the political equation. Amisi’s tweet told of uncertainty hanging in the air as many questioned if this would be the last government role for Gachagua.
He further probed the possible implications for the MPs from the Mount Kenya region, where Gachagua has the majority of his support. “How does that make the Central MPs welcome in their constituencies?” Amisi questions, insinuating that in case the impeachment motion is rejected by President Ruto, these MPs will have been politically alienated.
