A distraught Mashirima Kapombe recently announced that her beloved mother had died. The veteran Swahili news anchor has emphasized how much her lookalike mother means to her. Mashirima’s family thanked Kenyans for their tremendous support and confirmed funeral arrangements.
On Thursday, September 26, the experienced journalist shared the tragic news of her mother’s passing on Instagram. Mashirima stated that she felt broken while praying for her mother. Her mother is dressed elegantly in an African-themed gown and a matching headwrap.
“Broken. Oh Lord, grant Mum eternal peace and let permanent light shine upon her. May she rest peacefully. “Amen,” she wrote.
Mashirima had shared a selfie of herself smiling next to her lookalike mother just three days before. “My everything,” she captioned the photo. Kenyans sent Mashirima an incredible number of condolence notes.
In a subsequent message, Mashirima and her family thanked Kenyans for their assistance.
“Dear all, thank you for standing with Dr Kapombe and his family in these trying times,” according to the post. According to the letter, the planning discussions began immediately on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. in All Saints Cathedral.
