DC School

The nullification of NG-CDF by the court seems to have rubbed the wrong side of MPs and political class. The latest to react on is the ODM chairperson Gladys Wanga who has said that it is not a blow to MPs but the millions of Kenyans who did not have access to education infrastructures and fees. According to the Homabay Governor, the CDF money has been enabling equitable resources across the country.

“The nullification of the NG-CDF Act by the courts is NOT a loss to MPs, the real loss is with the millions of people currently served by NGCDF. NG-CDF ensures that every corner of this country is reached with funding equitably. Some will argue that these funds should come through counties, the sad truth is the functions of NGCDF are not devolved therefore the 40B+ will revert to the National Government to be distributed on discretionary terms depending on whether you are a shareholder or not!” Gladys Wanga says

“A clear testimony of how bad things are In our time. What is declared illegal works when all deemed legal are killing us. Ooh God help Kenya.” Ben said.

“We don’t even feel it’s impact yet it exist. Never got a bursary while in school. Don’t talk to us about the roads coz we’ll know how the village roads look like. My primary school was having potholes as well as high school. No renovation or building was done during my years in school. Let’s consolidate all these funds and make education free. Let’s not threaten the public with how good or bad having CDF or otherwise will affect us.” Shadrack Deshatts said.

“The courts are right Gladys; the continual management of NGCDF by MPs is a clear conflict of interest because their constitunal roles are only 3 i.e legislation, representation & oversight but they cannot do implementation!!!! Kindly be guided accordingly.” Hon Nyabira said.

“Read the constitution Madam Governor. That act is unconstitutional . it’s legality is illegal . if you are wise enough then you ought to have advocated for NGCDF money to be taken to the Education sector so that we have free Secondary education.” Wuod Nyakayogi said.
