However, achieving these promises have been facing an uphill task following the ongoing leadership wrangles within the Kenya Kwanza administration. For instance, the deputy president, Hon Rigathi Gachagua, have been accused by some Kenya Kwanza government allies for championing for regional unity instead of national unity. The national assembly majority leader, Hon Kimani Ichungwa, has been commanding the lead in attacking the deputy president for this.
Today Kimani Ichungwa had a tough moments following the bold decision made by some UDA party lawmakers to accuse him for disrespecting the deputy president. Maragua constituency lawmaker, Hon Mary Wamaua, accuses Ichungwa for disrespecting the deputy president even in front of the president. She promised that they will deal with him. Her statement has been echoed by Embakasi central constituency lawmaker, Hon Benjamin Guthiru, who also revealed that Ichungwa should respect the deputy president.
