A section of Kenyans on social media have expressed concerns after an image of a girl in school uniform engaging in a risky act inside a moving matatu surfaced online.
In a clip shared by blogger Simon Mwangi Muthiora and the Kenya Police Welfare on Facebook, the girl is seen dangerously hanging out of the vehicle’s window with half of her body outside.
What alarmed many viewers even more was that the girl appeared to be enjoying the attention, as she smiled and kept glancing at another vehicle that was filming her.
The Facebook page condemned the reckless behavior and called on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to take swift action, urging them to arrest the owner of the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) involved.
“To the traffic department, arrest and charge, if this is your daughter, teach her discipline,” read the statement on the Facebook post.
The incident drew criticism in the comments section, with many Kenyans attributing the girl’s behavior to poor parenting. Some sympathized with her, suggesting that peer pressure might have played a role, while others expressed their deep concern for the lack of discipline and safety among students.
