Following a horrific car accident on Tuesday, Christopher Ambani, 35, lost his wife, three children, and a caregiver. Ambani was the only one who survived.
The deceased’s family told the Nation that during the August school vacation, the Ambani family was traveling to their upcountry home in Kakamega to spend time with relatives.
Ambani and his spouse departed their residence at 4 am, prepared to travel to Western Kenya, so that their four-year-old firstborn and six-month-old twins could spend time with their grandmother.
A family member named Kevin Obebo reported that around 8 a.m., he received a call from someone notifying him of the passing of the five people they were waiting for in Kakamega.
“We are so devastated as they died while they were being waited for at home,” he remarked. The driver, Ambani, was the lone survivor. Both his hands and his legs were hurt. His attempt to pass was thwarted when he collided with an approaching truck.
Following the horrific tragedy that took the lives of the family members along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway, Kenyans were devastated.
The tragic news was confirmed by Gigil area OCPD Jamleck Ngaruiya, who stated that the five—a woman and her three children—died instantly.
Kenyans lamented that the family members’ lives were lost under such circumstances and used social media to express their condolences and mourn the deceased.
