All United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Jubilee Members of Parliament withdrew from deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s Sunday visit to Nyandarua, dealing him a severe blow.

This is in response to the Gachagua sharing on his Facebook page the names of the specific leaders who went to worship with him at the St. Stephen Karoroha Catholic parish in Nyandarua. Senator John Methu, his Kiambu counterpart Karungo Wa Thangwa, county governor Dr. Kiharie Badilisha, deputy governor Mathara Mwangi, and members of the county assembly were among the leaders.

The absence of the constituency MPs, including the Women Representative, was evident in the previously noted post. Michael Muchira (Ol Jororok), George Gachagua (Ndaragwa) of UDA, Kwenya Thuku (Kinangop), David Kiaraho (Olkalau) of Jubilee, and Wanjiku Muya (Kipkorir) were among the prominently absent MPs.

Accepting greetings from the Kinangop, Nyandarua County, residents of Engineer Town following prayers at St. Stephen Catholic Parish in Karoroha. Majority Leader Mwangi Nyagah, Minority Leader Mwangi Gichuki, Area Representative Geoffrey Kamwana, Senator John Methu, Governor Kiarie Badilisha, his deputy Mathara Mwangi, Senator Karungo Wa Thang’wa, Kiambu counterpart Karungo Wa Thang’wa, Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara, County Assembly Deputy Speaker Samuel Gathirimu, and several other leaders joined us “, according to Gachagua’s post.

This occurs while Gachagua consolidates the Mt. Kenya area and his boss, William Ruto, runs for general election reelection in 2027.

As he prepares to assume office after former president Uhuru Kenyatta left active politics, the DP is trying to gauge and rekindle his political influence. He is using his pursuit of togetherness for personal gain.
