Voter registration exercise begins today, so here’s what you need to know if interested:
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission will today begin a 30-day mass voter registration exercise across all the 47 counties.

  1. The polls agency has said it is targeting to list at least 25 million voters, up from 19.61 million voters in the 2017 General Election.
  2. The voter registration exercise will go on until 2nd November 2021.
  3. Every ward has 3 BVR kits manned by 2 clerks each from 8.00 to 5.00 daily
  4. The exercise will be launched in Nakuru County.
  5. IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati said the commission is targeting to enlist at least 6 million new voters as the country prepares for the August 2022 General Election.
  6. IEBC also says it plans to undertake voter registration for the Diaspora, with the exercise mainly targets Kenyans in South Sudan, USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
  7. IBEC aims to register those who may have attained the voting age before 2017, but for one reason or the other, had not been listed as voters.
