Some few minutes ago, reports emerged that some top officials from the ministry of interior have been arrested over what has been termed as graft.
As reported by Citizen TV, these officials whose names have not been revealed were arrested today over embezzlement of Shs 450 million belonging to the state department of correctional services. Citizen also reports that a cleaner from the same ministry was arrested for receiving Shs 257 million which is also suspected to be graft money.
“Cleaner who received Sh257m and five senior officials at Ministry of Interior, State Department for Correctional Services who allegedly embezzled over Sh450m arrested by EACC,” Says the report. This arrest is coming in at a time when the goverment of president William Ruto has been blamed for excessive looting by top officials. This made the young generation to go on streets demanding for president Ruto’s accountability. President Ruto has already announced that all those who will be found culpable will face the law.
