The acting inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has banned protests in Nairobi’s CBD and surrounding areas, a move that has caught the attention of several Kenyans who took to their different social media platforms to speak on this.
Narc party leader, Honorable Martha Karua who took to her X account to speak on this has stated that the police do not have the power to ban protests in the country.
This is happening at the same time when it has been reported that the acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Douglas Kanja has deployed police in parts of Nairobi ahead of the alleged planned protests.
According to the reports given by Mr Kanja, the National Police Service has decided to ban these protests because they are not well coordinated due to the fact that there is no leader.
In other news, former prime minister of Kenya who is also the Presidential candidate of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition, Honorable Raila Odinga has revealed he is opposed to President William Ruto being removed from power.
