Former Churchill Show comedian Chipukeezy has stirred controversy with his remarks on polygamy and same-sex relationships. In an interview with Mpasho’s Kalondu Musyimi, he openly expressed his intention to marry multiple wives, questioning why society supports gay relationships but not polygamy. He emphasized that polygamy is rooted in African traditions and should be accepted if a man can provide for multiple families without causing them to struggle. Drawing from his family background, where his grandfather had seven wives, Chipukeezy plans to continue this legacy. He stated that a man should be allowed to marry multiple women rather than engaging in infidelity.
Chipukeezy revealed that he has three potential wives who agree with his views, although one remains uncertain. He believes that once all parties are aligned, he will proceed with his polygamous marriage plans. His remarks have sparked debate, highlighting differing perspectives on traditional values and modern societal changes.
He explained further, “If you can fully take care of a family and feel like you can fully take care of another one without them struggling, then why not have the conversation with them for you to add another woman instead of cheating out here.” He added that his grandfather’s polygamous lifestyle inspired him, and he aims to follow in his footsteps. Chipukeezy mentioned that he already has three qualified women, with a new list of ten potential wives. However, he noted that the three are in agreement, except for one who is still unsure about the arrangement.
