KTN News anchor Ken Mijungu has shared some sad scenes as the Timba XO club in Eldoret which is associated with Kapseret member of parliament Oscar Sudi, went up in flames.
The incident is reported to have happened on Tuesday. This is a week after last week’s protests where the club was looted and suffered massive losses.
After last week’s looting, the Kapseret member of parliament has said he will close the club down.
“Timber XO flamed up amid protests. It was looted dry last week Tuesday amid massive protests in Eldoret. It’s associated with Oscar Sudi who had indicated he will close it down after being targeted. Sudi also said he has halted all political activities saying he is defenseless,” Ken Mijungu posted.
After the first looting on Tuesday last week, Oscar Sudi released a statement stating that the property destruction was appalling and it was against the law.
He blamed his political competitors for using the protests by using innocent youth to wreck havoc. Sudi further said he was defenseless on the issue and he would keep off all political engagements.
“What transpired on Tuesday, which followed an otherwise peaceful protest by Gen-Z is unfortunate. However the magnitude of loss of lives, looting and property destruction that happened is appalling, and it negates the spirit of our constitution.
“I’ve never organised or ill wished my political competitors and its shocking they took advantage of innocent youth turning peaceful protest to wreck havoc. Following the mayhem, i’ve forthwith suspended all my political activities and I’m defenseless to protect all my properties,” Sudi said then.
