A video that has gone viral shows the sad events that happened outside of Parliament on Tuesday and shows the last moments of Ericsson Kyalo Mutisya. The video shows Mutisya dancing happily in white overalls right before he was shot and killed by security forces. This shows how the protests were becoming more violent and tense.
The video shows Mutisya, 25, dancing with a lot of energy, as if the chaos around him doesn’t bother him. During the event, he shared it live on social media with his fans.
Just 15 minutes later, shooting broke out, ending this moment of fun. Larry Madowo, a CNN reporter who saw what happened, says that Mutisya was shot and killed soon after the live show finished.
Madowo’s tweets paint a dark picture of what happened next. “Police didn’t look at his body. “He was lying there in his bloody white overalls while people walked by,” Madowo said. Widespread criticism of the government’s lack of concern led to more protests.
CNN reported in an exclusive report that at least three protesters, including Mutisya, were killed outside of Parliament. People were protesting and demanding justice and responsibility from the government when violence broke out.
As shown in another tweet by Madowo, the scenes were wild and heartbreaking: “After the police ignored Ericsson, protesters took his body.” Singing the national song, they put the flag over him. Holding his hand was the brother with the faded hair and orange shirt. It hurt my feelings.
People are very angry about the video on social media, and many are asking for an independent investigation into the killings. Human rights groups have said that the security forces used too much force and have called for justice for the deaths.
