Jubilee Party have announced willingness to join youth to fight against President William Ruto’s administration excesses.
The party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni on Wednesday announced that they will hold protests if MPs pass finance bill.
According to Kioni, opposition’s demonstration will kick off on Friday next week in Nakuru.
MPs are expected to vote on the bill next week Thursday.
Kioni also urged the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua to stop interfering in the affairs of the Jubilee Party and to refrain from attempts to sabotage the former ruling party.
On Tuesday, lobby groups demanded that the government release all demonstrators who were arrested unconditionally.
The leaders of the Concerned Citizens Movement said those who were arrested were simply expressing their constitutional and democratic right.
Former Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has opined that the tax proposals on bread and diapers were a strategy to dupe Kenyans over the Finance Bill 2024.
Speaking during an interview on Spice FM, Kagwe noted that it was strange for President William Ruto’s administration to introduce VAT on bread at a time when Kenyans were suffering.
According to Kagwe, the contentious taxes were aimed at shifting the attention of Kenyans from other tax proposals in the bill.
