Earlier this week, Paris Jackson’s godfather, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, briefly spoke about the close relationship they share, complimenting her as someone who’s ‘tall, and beautiful and smart.’
Culkin, while appearing on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast Monday, kept relatively mum when Maron asked about her.
‘I’m going to warn you now, I am very protective of her so just look out,’ said the one-time child star, who was a close friend to Michael Jackson. ‘I am a very open book when it comes to things, but like with her, she is beloved by me.’
The veteran podcaster explained that he wasn’t fishing for ‘dirt’ about Paris, who’s frequently been seen on social media bonding with the 37-year-old actor, even getting matching tattoos at one point.
‘I’m just letting you know if we want to start going down that road it’s going to be a dead-end, you know, but I mean that in the fact that I love her so much,’ explained Macaulay.
He explained in the interview how he initially met the late King of Pop during his time as a ballet performer in a production of the The Nutcracker in New York City.
‘He came backstage before the show; he loved dance, he was a dance man,’ Culkin said. ‘He came backstage with Donald Trump, because they were friendly back then. I remember he looked at me like, “I know you from somewhere,”‘ which turned out to be the comedy film Uncle Buck.
Culkin said Jackson subsequently ‘reached out to me and my family’ after Home Alone was released, paving the way to ‘a legitimate friendship’ that lasted until the Thriller singer’s 2009 death.
‘Seriously, he was like my best friend for a good long stretch,’ Paris’s godfather said of her late dad.
