In an exclusive conversation with journalist Samuel Maina, the former musician described the reports circulating on social media on Sunday as fake.
Gidi clarified that there is no truth to these claims, noting that it is merely the work of rivals who aim to tarnish his reputation.
“Those are false news. It’s just propaganda from people who want to spread false information,” Gidi said on Monday morning.
The fake news had been posted in a Facebook group, alleging that the morning show host impregnated a woman and then abandoned her after making numerous unfulfilled promises.
According to the post, he had promised the woman money and a job after advising her on how to handle her pregnancy.
“Now it’s been six months, you don’t answer calls. Why do this to an innocent person? Why ruin her life?” a Facebook user named Sharon Cutee posted in the TRUE LUOS group. She accompanied the post with a picture of Gidi and a photo of the woman.
This false news came at a time when some netizens were attacking the popular host over a post about Ohangla artists that had been misinterpreted.
On Sunday, the former musician faced attacks from some internet users after making comments on social media. Some netizens and blogs claimed that he identified Odongo Swag as the best Ohangla artist, above all other artists.
Gidi, however, defended himself, clarifying that the post he made on his social media pages was misinterpreted.
He emphasized that he was commenting on various Ohangla artists and their talents.
