With a new order to Kenyans regarding the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), the Kenyan government broke its quiet today.
Speaking through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), the Kenyan government has mandated that all Kenyans holding KCSE certificates with incorrect passport-size photos pay KSh5,000.
This directive is effective as of today. Offering a sneak peek at the underlying rationale for the Ksh5,000 that Kenyans who own the aforementioned KCSE certificates will be able to send in, the Kenyan government has emphasized that the newly established fee will enable photo editing of the KCSE certificates.
Furthermore, the Kenyan government emphasized that Kenyans will apply for photo amendments in KCSE certificates using the following procedure: Create an account at https://qmis.knec.ac.ke. Log in using the credentials you received via email, type the index number, choose the exam and year, and click Find to generate the candidate’s credentials. Upload the correct passport photo, attach a letter from the school and a copy of the KCSE certificate, and allow the system some time to verify the application. After the application has been verified, you will receive an SMS directing you to log in and pay KSh5,000. Finally, once the process is finished, you will receive an SMS directing you to pick up the new certificate from the KNEC offices.
