A man in his early 40s was surprised to discover that his account had increased from £1 (KSh 180) to a whooping £122k (about KSh 22.3 million).

Upon informing the bank of the unexpected credit alert, the banking institution initially informed him that the funds were his.

The individual claimed that after receiving another update from the bank a day later, he was still surprised that they had let him transfer the funds to a different account.

According to the Daily Mail, Urslaan, an East London resident, informed his bank, Gatehouse Bank, of the transaction right away.

The bank’s announcement that he may keep the money made him delighted. He transferred the funds to his Barclays account, in fact.

In related news, a Nigerian man disclosed that he corrected the bank’s incorrect credit to his account, returning over KSh 596,000.

Akanji Ayodele described how, initially, he was taken aback to see a credit alert for KSh 596,000 rather than the KSh 596 he had instructed his employee to deposit.

When Ayodele went to the bank to voice his concerns about the incorrect transaction, he showed exemplary character. “I was not commended by the bank.

They merely said “thank you,” and I left the bank. In particular, the cashier who made the error was seen sobbing uncontrollably in the manager’s office of the bank branch,” he claimed.
