Is a letter doing rounds on social media purporting to demand that the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) takes action on Steve Mbogo over the noise from his chopper in Karen fake?
Well, some Kenyans have questioned its authenticity claiming that the letter was doctored with glaring discrepancies.
One social media user pointed out that the association’s name in the said letter was incorrect and that it was Karen Residents District Association and not Karen Residents Association.
She added that the association’s offices were located along Lower Plain Road and not at the Post office in Karen as depicted by the letter.
NEMA on their part confirmed receiving complaints over the chopper to a local TV station but not whether they received the complaint through the aforementioned letter.
According to ‘Karen Residents Association’ header, Mbogo’s helicopter was becoming a nuisance to residents in the area and accused him of disrupting their ‘peaceful and quiet’ life in Karen.
The ‘association’ claimed that Mbogo was using his chopper daily in the wee hours of the morning and at night inconveniencing other residents.
The association added that they had reported the matter at Karen Police station under OB number 13/23/11/2017.
They added that their efforts to reach Mbogo had proved futile and were demanding that NEMA takes up the matter.
