It is no secret that celebrated Kenyan media personality Betty Kyallo is now back on the screens.
Having previously worked at KTN and K24 TV, the mother of one is actually now a journalist at TV47. She made her debut at the Cape Media-owned station on Friday, the 12th of May.
Betty Kyallo actually anchored the 9 PM news bulletin at the station, which was part of the show dubbed ‘This Friday With Betty’. She is therefore expected to be anchoring news bulletins on every Friday.
Before Betty Kyallo joined TV47, she had been off the screens for 4 years. During that time, she had even transitioned to being an entrepreneur.
Her last job on TV was at K24, where she worked for about two years before she exited the station in 2020.
Even though Betty Kyallo’s return on TV has caused a frenzy among netizens, it should be noted that for her to make that decision it was not an easy thing.
For starters, being out of the screens for a long time left the award-winning journalist wondering whether she still had the talent to do it once more.
Unbeknownst to many, Betty Kyallo doubted herself so much that she almost cancelled her Friday night debut just three days prior.
She actually had the opinion that the debut should be delayed by atleast about a week, so that she could gather some courage to go back to the screens again.
Betty Kyallo disclosed this in a short video clip that she posted on her Instagram account few hours ago, where she said:
“When everything started I was like ‘oh my gosh!’ I’m I doing this? Is it time?’ And even like three days ago I was asking everybody like ‘Do I need to go live this Friday, ama tunaeza push tu to the next one. Coz you know I was like ‘oh my gosh!, do I still have it?”.
Despite the self-doubt, Betty Kyallo was proud of herself for how she successfully managed to anchor the Friday bulletin perfectly, like she was not even away for a minute!
