Nick Ruto, the eldest son of President William Ruto, has been lying low like an envelope after marrying his beautiful partner, Evelyne Chemtai.Nick Ruto’s wife Chemtai and her sister Stephanie Ruto made their first public event at state house and they were spotted planting a tree. Nick, his beautiful little-known girlfriend held their pre-wedding ceremony in 2022.
Recently President Ruto revealed that Nick, Chemtai had welcomed their first child. Speaking during a public event in Laikipia county, Ruto said: “I want to thank the people of Laikipia for giving my son a wife, and they have been blessed with a grandchild. Thank you for giving us your daughter in marriage.”
Separately, President Ruto urged all Kenyans to unite in the endeavour, rallying support for the ambitious goal of planting 200 million trees in a single day.In a bid to encourage public participation, Kenyans have been urged to purchase and plant at least two seedlings on their own land.
The initiative forms a central pillar of President Ruto’s National Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Programme, a key priority since assuming office in September 2022.
President Ruto also directed all cabinet secretaries to progress the planting of trees. Ruto who spoke during a tree-planting exercise in Murangāa county, ordered all ministers to plant trees daily from Monday, May 13.
Ruto clarified that the project would be done for the next six months and every ministry would be allocated specific days for planting trees.
āWe are not just planting trees today, from Monday, this exercise will continue ministry by ministry daily,ā Rtuo noted.
According to the head of state, the move was aimed at helping the government achieve its target of planting 15 billion trees.
