A few days after being sworn in by President William Ruto, the head of state of Kenya, Charles Kahariri was greeted to his new position today at an event held at the military headquarters.
Following his swearing in and taking office, this signaled A New Beginning for the Kenyan military, as he will now be tasked with leading the force in realizing its constitutionally mandated dream.
The new chief of the Kenyan defense forces, who is now expected to serve for three years, was honored with a god of honor during the event, which was presiding over by the cabinet secretary in charge of defense and the Kenyan military.
President William Ruto will support Kenya’s defense forces as long as they fulfill their mandate, the cabinet secretary has stated.
After Francis Ogola, the previous head of the Kenyan defense forces, died in a helicopter crash, the new chief of staff assumed office.
“Accompanied by Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru, today, at Ulinzi House, we witnessed the coronation of General Charles Kahariri as he assumes office as the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of Kenya. During the ceremony, attended by service commanders and esteemed General Officers, General Kahariri inspected an assembled guard of honor by the Kenya Air Force. I warmly welcomed General Kahariri, highlighting his commitment to upholding the professionalism, integrity, and dedication that define the KDF.” Aden Duale says.
