On Friday night the city of Nairobi experienced heavy rains which has continued all through till Saturday morning. According to reports from different places, the rains have caused flooding and several areas are inaccessible.
As seen by this writer in photos shared on the internet, many residences have flooded and people who live there have been affected. Most of the photos talked about the flooding in Kahawa Wendani along Thika Road and Imara Daima. This places has been hit hard by the floods since the rains started in March.
The road was flooded to an extent that no vehicles would pass through. Motorists had to use alternative routes to go to where they were headed. The government has been making efforts to prevent the flooding around the area but they are yet to achieve success.
The meteorological department has said that the rains might continue for another few weeks and Kenyans have been asked to stay vigilant. Here are some of the photos of the flooding experienced on Saturday morning;
