Sam Smith has revealed he is feeling ‘a lot happier’ since he began dating 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn.
The Stay With Me singer admitted he is ‘always fighting depression’ and found himself in a ‘dark place’ after splitting up with an ex-boyfriend last year.

But the 25-year-old, who has been spotted kissing Brandon, 24, in New York recently, said things are looking up in the romance sense, in an interview with NME.
Discussing his break-up, he said: ‘I was in a bit of a dark place. I just didn’t really like myself that much when I was making this record.
He added that he was ‘starting to be happier’ since his romance with American actor Brandon was confirmed.

The pair shared a public smooch on the streets of New York this month, and were later seen grabbing dinner together and walking around Greenwich Village.
The duo have also been liking each other’s posts on social media, with Sam leaving a kiss underneath one of Brandon’s posts which spoke out in support of the LGBTQ community.
Discussing their romance, he previously said on Ellen: ‘It’s weird bringing out an album and not being single.

‘Now I’m singing songs about another guy. I’m quite happy, so it’s quite weird.’
Speaking about how he lost all self-respect for himself, which inspired the painfully emotional song Burning, he said: It’s just painful to sing that song now. It’s about fame and that relationship that ended.
‘I got to a point last year where I didn’t care any more about myself. I was being completely reckless and not looking after my body and my mind and heart and literally burning.’
