Following the tragic chopper crash which claimed lives of senior KDF officials including General Francis Ogolla among others in West Pokot County, eyewitness recalls how they attempted to rescue them.
Speaking to a local media, the eyewitness revealed that alot of flights activities in the area especially afternoon. The residents heard a very loud voice and tried to make their way to the scene.
“Most of the choppers were in the air, busy with their routine activities. At around 2 pm we just heard a loud bang,” said Benard Kipkorir.
“When we rushed to the scene were able to rescue three people who were onboard the aircraft and we rushed them to a mission hospital where they got emergency treatment before they were airlifted,” he stated.
“KDF officials on the ground were using a drone to establish what had transpired at the scene,” he stated during an interview with NTV.
We our hearts go out to his family, his colleagues in the KDF, and the entire nation as we grieve this immense loss. We also extend our very heartfelt condolences to the families of the KDF team who perished. May the souls of all those who have departed find eternal peace.
