After revealing that they discovered they were dating months after they first started dating, Kyle and Brianna became viral. But they stated that learning they had the same father only strengthened their love for one another and that they intended to begin a family.
Nonetheless, High Court advocate Edwin Omulama clarified the legal ramifications of engaging in incest in a TUKO.co.ke interview. Since they came out and said they were related but didn’t intend to break up, young Kenyan couple Kyle and Brianna have been in the spotlight.
The lovers, who are 19 and 21 years old, disclosed that they had heartfelt conversations before parting ways, and that they only discovered months after starting dating that they had the same father.
The kids insisted that there is nothing wrong with them carrying on with their relationship and that learning they were related simply made their love more delicious.
In a special interview with TUKO.co.ke, High Court advocate Edwin Omulama warned that men and women who chose to sleep with their relatives could face serious repercussions. In his own words: “Sections 20 and 21 of the Sexual Offences Act are something.
Any male who engages in indecent behavior that results in sexual penetration with a female who is, to his knowledge, his daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt, or grandmother faces a minimum of ten years in jail, according to Section 20, Subsection 1. Omulama went on to say that if the female was under the age of 18, the guy would face life in prison.
But what does the law say about someone who unintentionally engages in incest? “Then it’s not incest, but there will be consequences—not legal ones,” Omulama clarified. A phenomenon known as inbreeding exists.
This couple’s DNA is almost identical, thus there’s a good likelihood that if they inbreed, their progeny will have some problems. For this reason, it is customary to advise against marrying a member of your family.
To prevent similarities in DNA strands colliding, you make an effort to be different. To prevent the community from collapsing, severe penalties were enforced even in the most traditional societies.
However, we utilize the law to punish that because that is how we have evolved to be. But only if you are aware that these things are taking place.” The same holds true.
