Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has advised comedian Njugusgh and his wife Celestina Ndinda to ignore the naysayers after they ventured into the matatu business.

Njugush reportedly sold his Prado TX and bought a 36-seater matatu named after their firstborn son, Tugi. Some people have discouraged Njuush and his wife , telling them how the matatu business has a lot of challenges.

Sonko has encouraged the power couple to hold their heads high. He noted that when he ventured into the business with his wife Primrose Mbuvi, they were also told that they won’t make it.

However, they managed to create a thriving empire in the matatu business. Sonko further said that he is optimistic that Njugush and his wife will prove their haters wrong.

”Nimeona a few haters trying to discourage them. Hata sisi tuliambiwa hatutaweza when we first started but we prevailed. Just watch, this couple will prove many people wrong! There’s a God in heaven and the devil is always a liar. I know they will make it,” he tweeted.

Njugush’s new matatu is registered with the Super Metro Sacco and will ply the Rongai route. Njugush bought the matatu after selling his Toyota Prado TX.

Speaking to the press, the celebrated comedian said he wants to explore various avenues, including farming. ” It’s about seizing opportunities that others have laid the groundwork for. This venture is a trial, and I’m hopeful it will be successful. It’s the way forward. We should capitalise on our successes to invest wisely as artists,” he said.
