The Kenyan Government has today broken silence with a powerful statement targeting all Television stations in Kenya.
Addressing via the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) on 16th April 2024, the Kenyan Government has instituted a new ban that solemnly targets Television stations based within the expansive Kenyan borders.
The Kenyan Government has prohibited all Television stations in Kenya from airing advertisements which embody the tags breaking news as well as news flash.
In addition, the Kenyan Government has prohibited all Television stations in the country from airing animations that display content that embody violence scenes. Giving a glimpse of the key reason behind this strategic ban, the state has intimated that it is main objective is to safeguard children from exposure to such content.
The Kenyan Government has underscored that the newly orchestrated ban will go a long way in streamlining the expansive media industry as well as control the dissemination of content to children.
