Few months ago, Paul Mackenzie became the subject of discussion among kenyans after he was charged with murder. More that 400 bodies were found buried in shallow graves at the Shakahola forest and it was revealed that Mackenzie encouraged his followers to fast. Those who died ended up being buried at the forest. It has now been revealed that the court denied to bail him together with 94 other members. According to the chief magistrate Alex Ithuku, Mackenzie and his co-accused lack a permanent place of abode.
“The prosecution has demonstrated that the suspects face serious charges and have a high chance of absconding. They are also in a position to interfere with witnesses if released on bail.” The magistrate stated.
