Drama was witnessed in Muranga County during a women empowerment event after a nasty fight occurred.
The event, held on Monday, April 15, was being attended by Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) Alice Wahome (Lands), Aisha Jumwa (Gender), and Simon Chelugui (Cooperative and SMEs).
According to reports from those close to the event, the fight started after Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina accused Maragua MP Mary Waithira of maligning her during previous public gatherings, hence destroying her reputation.
The event was halted by security personnel as they tried to contain the situation. In a video doing circles on social media, Aisha Jumwa could be seen on the podium ready to address the huge crowd that had turned up but even before she could start her address people could be seen screaming and shouting as they headed to the tents where the fight was taking place.
The MC in the event can be heard asking for security to intervene while also asking what sort of embracement the two culprits in the fight have brought to the event.
