She was one of the most popular figures at the national broadcaster, the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation where she worked for over one decade.
At the height of her career at KBC, Tatu Karema made a name for herself as one of the finest Swahili news anchors.
The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication- trained Karema often presented the Darubini 7 PM Kiswahili news. Besides that, she hosted the Kudzacha Show on KBC channel 1 on Friday morning.
There is no doubt that Karema mentored some of the finest Swahili news anchors in the country today. But after almost two decades at the national broadcaster, the veteran journalist called it quits as she left KBC.
But her decision to leave government, was somehow a blessing in disguise as she joined a reputable international media house, Deutsche Welle, DW, the German media giant.
Today, she works as a news producer for one of the biggest international media houses in the world.
