During an interview with presenter Ali, Chira’s grandfather spoke of the relationship he had with the young man.
He described the late 23-year-old as a soft-spoken young man who was very obedient, as he always did as he was told.
“He wowed many with his actions. When sent to the shop, he would hurriedly return home. He was very obedient. When his mum would come here, he would help her. His mum was a computer studies teacher in some high school here.”

Was Brian Chira gay?
The grandfather denied claims that Chira was gay, claiming that he saw the allegations online and that his grandson never talked about his orientation.
“We knew him as a silent person. He was soft-spoken you would want him to keep talking. He was not loud and we knew him as a good boy. We were shocked that he had a drinking problem. He was a bright boy.
It’s something which i’ve never heard even through media even from Brian. I never heard from him even one time. What i heard from his is ‘I want to be a reader, economist, I want to start my broadcasting centre’ but such I never heard from him.”
He also condemned netizens who shared the late TikToker’s photos on social media, asking them to maintain ethics.
“What I would advise those people on those photos is to be ethical and have ethics because privacy matters a lot.”
