It is a sad day for the journalism fraternity following the death of vocal Mwenge Fm journalist Festus Murithi Gacima.
Gacima died at Kiirua Mission Hospital where he was receiving medication. He was on Sunday evening admitted at the hospital after being involved in an accident along Gaciongo-Marimanti road, Tharaka Nithi county. The crash left him with severe injuries including fractured skull.
Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated, requiring him to be placed under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).Tragically, he passed away on Thursday morning.
A battery of journalists including those who worked with Gacima in gathering news have eulogised him. Many mourned him as a dedicated journalist who performed his duties well.
Colleagues described him as a person who never held grudges.

The late was a Tharaka reporter for Mwenge Fm, a kimeru broadcasting radio station in upper Eastern Region.
