Police in Murang’a are holding a middle-aged man for defiling two sisters aged 8 and 6 respectively.
The suspect, a bar owner in Murang’a, is said to have sexually assaulted the two sisters with a promise to buy them ‘mutura’.
A report from The Star, indicates that the businessman who appeared before the Murang’a High Court Senior Principal Magistrate is also facing alternative charges of committing indecent acts with the minors.
According to the 6-year-old minor, on the material day she was on her way from the toilet when the man stopped her, led her to his house. On arrival in the house, the accused asked her to sit down on his bed. The girl pleaded with him to let her go, but he refused and started undressing her. The man defiled the girl and then asked her not to tell anyone, promising to buy her ‘mutura’.
When the 8-year-old girl realized the man has taken her sister to his house, she followed them to the house and found the suspect lying on bed with the minor. Thus, the accused undressed the older girl and defiled her. He also promised to buy her ‘mutura’.
After the incident, the girls narrated the ordeal to their aunt who immediately reported the incident to the police.
The accused was charged with the offence before he was arraigned at the High Court in Murang’a where he denied the accusations. The court found the businessman guilty of the charges and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
