The Head of State Dr William Ruto has now informed of a powerful role he has been appointed to by the African Union.

In a statement on his official Facebook handle, President Ruto has informed that he has been tasked by the African Union to champion for reforms of the continental organisation. His Ghanaian counterpart, President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Ado was on the other part tasked with the role of championing for the establishment of African Union Financial Reforms.

“Our fellow leaders in the African Union have appointed President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana as the champion of the establishment of African Union financial institutions, while I have been given a similar honour to champion reform of the continental organisation,” part of the statement read.

The President is currently in Ghana for a State visit. Ruto also informed that he oversaw the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Kenya and Ghana. Defence CS Aden Duale, Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Ministry CS Musalia Mudavadi were both present.

Further, Ruto acknowledged that the long-standing relations between the two nations have continued to harbour the great cooperation between them.
