Sombre mood has engulfed parents and the fraternity of Chavakali Boys High School after an Easy Coach bus that was ferrying them from Kisumu to Nairobi was involved in a fatal accident, resulting in the loss of one life.

Latest reports indicate that the deceased was a 17-year-old son of popular Mugithi artist KareB, whose real name is Mary Wangari.

The incident, which occurred two days ago caused panic particularly as news spread about the accident. It is reported that KareB, known for her hit song “Tuirio Twega,” was devastated to learn about her son’s death. Further reports indicate that the singer received the agonizing news through social media posts about the accident.

While several other passengers sustained injuries, KareB’s son was the only reported fatality.

Yesterday, the bus company issued a memo to state about the accident and thanked Redcross, and the school management for their swift action. It was revealed that One succumbed to injuries while 22 others were hospitalalized.

The National Transport and Safety Authority is currently taking measures to curb the road carnages that are on the surg in different parts of the country. Students are currently closing for holidays and there’s need to strengthen road inspection to protect lives.
