On Wednesday evening, veteran Kenyan rapper Nazizi Hirji emotionally recalled memories with her late son Jazeel Adam. Nazizi’s three-year-old son lost his life last Christmas following a tragic accident at a hotel in Tanzania.
In her heartfelt post, the coastal-born singer reminisced about spending evenings with her young boy, watching children’s programs, laughing together, and embracing each other. She described these evening moments as her favorite times of the day.
“It was my favorite time of the day when we would relax and watch Paw Patrol, laugh, and cuddle,” Nazizi wrote on Instagram.
She accompanied her message with a short video showing her crying while looking at a picture of her late son hanging on the wall.
She continued to open up about how much she misses her son and how she cries every evening, remembering that her child is no longer with her.
“Now you’re gone, my boy, and mama has no one to spend the evenings with. I cry and cry, wishing you were here,” she said.
Earlier this month, the artist hinted that she had spent about two and a half months holed up in her house following her son’s death.
In her statement, the Necessary Noize singer thanked those who have been encouraging her to leave the house and rejoin the world, but she hinted that it hasn’t been easy for her since the end of last year.
