The Kenyan Government has today broken silence with a powerful statement targeting a cross section of Kenyans inhabiting varied local and regional destinations.

Addressing via the Ministry of Energy, the Kenyan Government has declared stiff penalties to all Kenyan private electricity suppliers who will fail to submit their respective outage plans as envisaged in the eminent and newly introduced Energy Act.

The Kenyan Government has underscored that those Kenyan citizens undertaking private supply of electricity businesses across the country will be subjected to a daily fine of Ksh100,000 in the event they fail to submit their respective outage plans as required by law.

The Kenyan Government has further underscored that Kenyans engaging in private supply of electricity in the country who will be caught red-handed providing falsified outage plans will be penalized a heavy fine amounting to Ksh10 Million upon conviction.

The Kenyan Government has further warned that submission of falsified outage plans could also lead to an imprisonment for a period that does not exceed five years. The state underscored that the new regulations are aimed at streamlining the expansive Kenyans electricity supply sector.
