On Friday, March 8th, Joseph Irungu, known as Jowie, shared a short message. He planned to share it on the day he got his punishment. Jowie was found guilty of killing the businesswoman Monica Kimani.

In a three-line message on YouTube, Jowie said he was going through a hard time. But he said his hope was in God. “When I am scared, I will trust in God. No matter how hard life is, just trust God. He is the only hope,” Jowie wrote.Jowie also shared a song called “I Believe.” He said the song was to help people going through tough times like him. “May this song help all of us. We face different hard times, but I know for sure we will get through it one day,” his message said.

Jowie shared the message and song at 11:45am. This was the scheduled time for him to get his punishment that day. However, the judge postponed it to March 13th because some reports were late. The judge said Jowie’s lawyers needed more time to respond to reports from the prosecution and Kimani’s family. She told Jowie’s lawyers to file their response by March 11th.

The judge hoped to “finish this case” on the new date of March 13th. On February 6th, the judge found Jowie guilty of murdering Kimani in 2018. Evidence included DNA on Jowie’s clothes and his security skills. As Jowie waits for his punishment, his message shows his faith in God during this difficult legal process.
