Days after KMPDU threatened to stage peaceful demonstrations against the government over delay of posting medical interns, the government has finally responded.

Speaking via a report covered on NTV, Cabinet Secretary for health Susan Nakhumicha noted that there is a delay as internship has been a problem.

According to her remarks, the government is doing everything to get a long lasting solution and therefore urging medics not to down their tools.

“I acknowledge and take responsibility that there is a delay but also to say that this delay is not just this year. Internship has been a problem. We are taking our time because we want to get a lasting solution: CS Nakhumicha on the delayed posting of medical interns”, she said.

This response comes in line with KMPDU threatens of staging demonstrations until when the government will address their raised issues.

It should be noted that young medics stages peaceful demonstrations at the ministry of health but the demos were disrupted by police officers who injured their secretary general.
