In an tragic head on collision involving a North rift shuttle Matatu and an Eldoret Express bus on the busy Nakuru-Gilgil highway a few hours ago, two people have died and several more have been injured. According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, the accident happened when the bus driver tried to pass a group of vehicles and ran into an approaching Matatu, which swerved to the side to avoid the collision but was hit on the side instead.When the accident occurred, ten people were on board the North rift shuttle Matatu. It is reported that two individuals passed away on the spot, and numerous others who sustained injuries were transported to St. Marys Hospital, where they are currently fighting for their lives.
Meanwhile, the impact caused a number of passengers on the Eldoret Express bus to suffer minor injuries but no deaths have been reported so far. The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the nearby morgue, pending autopsy and identification.
